The stage is all set for your big day. In a few hours, you will be walking down the aisle with the love of your life. You’ve gone out of your way to ensure that every piece falls into place. Your groomsmen and maids are ready to go. Heck, you’ve even chosen North West as your wedding venue. And who can blame you? After all, North West rocks the best!

…but when the wedding is over, it’s time to head for a honeymoon – in the U.S.

Welcome to Chicago, a city nestled on Lake Michigan and one of the largest cities in the United States.  As you would expect from a city its size, Chicago has everything you would want to have a good time from renowned museums to large shopping malls, world-class restaurants, and vibrant nightlife to mention but a few. As you head out for your honeymoon, here’s how to spend your time while in the city.

Tour the Millennium Park

Arguably one of the most famous attractions in Chicago, the Millennium Park showcases remarkable art, landscaping, and architecture. While at the Park check out the Cloud Gate and the Crown Fountain, popularly known as The Bean. Sitting between two fifty foot towers, The Bean features LED screens that project a thousand faces for different Chicago residents with its elliptical shape reflecting the city’s skyline. What’s more? At Millennium Park, you can also attend a concert the Jay Pritzker Pavilion or take a walk through the Lurie Garden as you catch a glimpse at some of the tallest skyscrapers in Chicago.

Visit the Art Institute of Chicago

If you want to see some of the most remarkable collection of impressionist and post-impressionist art, the Art Institute of Chicago is the place to be. Home to more than 300,000 works from every corner of the world, the institute showcases pieces of art dating as back as the 17th century. If you want to explore everything that the Institute has to offer, consider taking a guided tour as well as audio guides which go for about seven bucks per visitor. (Note that the guided tour is covered in the admission fee). You can access the Art Institute of Chicago through the Adams/Wabash “L” train station.

360 Chicago

Chicago is famous for its skyline and the best place to experience it is the 360 Chicago observation deck. Located on the 94th floor of the John Hancock Center, 360 Chicago gives you access to the expansive views of the city. If the weather is clear, you can view Chicago’s skyline 55 miles in any direction. While you’re at 360, be sure to test TILT, a mechanized observation room that “tilts” you over the bust North Michigan Avenue. The admission fee at 360 Chicago is $18 for adults and $12 for kids. You will part with an extra $5 for the TILT experience.

While this is just a tip of the iceberg, a visit to any of these places will ensure that your honeymoon in Chicago starts on the right footing.
